William McGranaghan founded Dads House in 2008 aiming to offer support to single fathers, most recently through the launch of its new project HOFF (Homes For Fathers and Families) which aims to provide accommodation and support, for fathers looking after children.
William was voted one of the Most Influential Dads of the Year, in 2009 on the Trisha Goddard Show and has made numerous other TV and radio appearances, including a collaboration with the BBC who filmed a special episode on his Dads House Football Evenings.
Dads House has most recently been asked to promote the highly acclaimed film The Road, which tells the story of a single father fighting to protect his son and provide him with the stability he deserves.
Quote: "I think it's about time that single fathers had a positive voice".
HOMES FOR FATHERS AND FAMILIES (“HOFF”)
Homes for Fathers and Families (“HOFF”) is a project aimed at providing the same degree of support for single fathers as is available for single mothers in the UK. Fathers who look after their children on their own have much the same difficulties as mothers. In addition they are not necessarily as naturally gifted when it comes to caring for their children, nor are they seen as needing help, for example by employers in regard to time off or flexibility in working hours. As a result, in many cases, their children suffer.
